Cougars News · UPDATED: Letter to Parents and Cougar Fans

Good Day Cougar Parents,

Upon careful review of the Ohio Department of Health Director’s order and with the collaboration of my fellow athletic directors in the Ohio Capital Conference, I have several updates to share with you regarding sporting events this fall. The complete order is available online for your review.

Spectators will be limited to family members or those close to the athlete only. Spectators must remain seated together according to household. Spectators must wear a mask at all times and follow social distancing protocols.  The number of tickets available for each athlete’s family to purchase will vary depending on the size of the venue. Each sport will receive more specific information regarding the quantity of available tickets in a separate, sport specific communication. Per the Ohio Capital Conference, all tickets will be sold at a flat rate. There will be no discounts or passes permitted throughout the 2020-2021 season. Student sections are not permitted. Masks are required at all times for spectators, officials, coaches, and athletes not on the field of play.  Anyone found in violation will be removed from the venue. Refunds will not be provided.

Gates will open 30 minutes before all contests (60 minutes prior for football). Spectators must remain seated according to their household. Spectators are not permitted to congregate while on school property. Spectators will be required to exit the facility immediately after the end of the contest and will wait in their car for their player. Waiting inside the venue is not permitted throughout the 2020-2021 season.

Tickets will not be sold at the door for any event. Ticket availability for home contests will be released each week. Tickets must be pre-purchased online at Tickets will be purchased by your athlete’s student ID number and home events are only for current athletes.  Ticket allotment was given to you all in the previous letter that was sent by your athlete’s coach.  Questions regarding this process may be directed to the Athletic Coordinator’s Office at 614-801-7024.

Ticket availability for away contests will be released weekly to families by the head coach. This information will come directly from the opposing school’s AD. Typically, this will occur within 24 hours of the game. Please read instructions closely when they are received to avoid any problems. Please note: There will be no spectators permitted at scrimmages.  For home games only:

The opportunity for our student athletes to have a season must remain our consistent focus. We are all being asked to do things we have never done before and there are differing opinions regarding the ODH mandates. Please remember that each school is doing what it is required so that the student-athletes can enjoy a season. Our number one priority is the safety of our players, coaches, officials, and spectators. We are doing everything possible to ensure a healthy season for all involved. Thank you for your patience, grace and cooperation as we navigate this unprecedented time.
